MMDA Recent Student Accomplishments
|
We are proud of our current and former students!
- Marah King is currently dancing professionally with Missouri Ballet Theatre in St. Louis.
- Noel Pollard is currently dancing professionally with Alabama Ballet in Birmingham, AL.
- Christina Holy recently won the title of Madison County Jr. Miss. She was named 2nd Runner Up at the state competition and won the overall Self-Expression and Fitness Awards.
- Mallory Markham is currently in her senior year at the University of Oklahoma School of Dance on dance and academic scholarships. She recently performed the role of the Dewdrop Fairy in their production of "The Nutcracker" and was featured in George Balanchine's "Divertimento No. 15."
- Jane Anne Duddleston spent two years as a member of Orlando Ballet II after studying at the Ellison Ballet year-round training program in New York City.
- Alex McCaskill is in her senior year at the University of Mississippi and is a member of the Rebelettes dance team.
- Allison Kellogg appeared in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City in 2006 and 2007 as Barbie. She is also the Mattel Toys spokesperson on the QVC Shopping Network, and has appeared on television on the David Letterman Show, All My Children, and Deal or No Deal.
- Brooke Beard was named Miss University and competed in the 2009 Miss Mississippi pageant.
- Haleigh Huddleston recently won Lamar County Jr. Miss. She was named First Runner-Up at the state competition and won a preliminary talent award for her variation from "Esmeralda."
- Lana Smith was selected to be a Miss Mississippi dancer for the second straight year. Lana also won the talent award and 2nd Runner Up in the 2008 Rankin County Junior Miss program. She is currently a freshman at LSU.
- Cindy Edmonson recently graduated with her dance degree from Point Park University. She is currently dancing with Apex Contemporary Dance Theatre and is on the faculty at Colorado Ballet.
- Dexter Bishop is pursuing his Master's Degree in Dance at Oklahoma City University.
- Sarah Porras recently graduated with her BFA in Dance from the University of Alabama. She is pursuing a career as a choreographer.
- Kevin Arredondo was awarded a scholarship to study at the 2009 Alabama Dance Theater summer workshop. He also was selected to perform as a 2009 Miss Mississippi dancer and is currently in his freshman year as a dance major at Belhaven College.
- Brittany Thornton was recently named a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys.
